My best recommendations to eat in Japan

I, Masato, a National Tour Guide, would like to recommend casual Japanese meals which are very popular among young people here in Japan. They eat them as daily lunch. Much more expensive same menu is available, but those which we show you today here are not expensive but very delicious.

1.Katsudon;
Katsudon is a bowl of rice topped with slices of deep-fried pork, beaten egg, and slices of onions cooked in a sweet soy sauce based broth.
This is one of the Japanese favorites. Most Japanese young, even if senior, love to eat them as lunch. The thickness of the pork is about 10 to 15 mm. Decorations and taste depends on a restaurant. You can eat it at a casual Japanese style casual restaurant in the downtown area. Price is about 800 to 1,500 yen depending on a restaurant.

2.Tempura;
Most tourists from overseas know and sometimes have eaten the Tempura along with Sashimi and Sushi.
If you come to a specialty restaurant of Tempura, for example in a hotel, you have to pay 5,000 yen and more per person. But you can enjoy the taste of real Tempura in a casual restaurant with less than 1,000 yen.
Tendon-Tenya is a nationwide chain restaurant of Tempura at where you can taste quality tempura.
In addition, you can eat at the restaurant Japanese soba noodles, buckwheat noodles.
It includes rutin that is good for your health. You can ask only soba or set menu tempura and soba.

3.Sukiyaki;
You may know the Sukiyaki song which is not actually related to Sukiyaki. But actually, Sukiyaki is one of the typical hot pot dishes of Japan. Put an adequate quantity of Warishita, a Japanese stock, into a heated pot for sukiyaki, then boil the meat, various vegetables, bean curd, tofu together in it. Shiitake mushrooms and Japanese leeks are essential for sukiyaki.
If you come to a first class restaurant to eat the Sukiyaki, you have to pay about 10,000 yen per person.
But you come to Yoshinoya, a national chain shop, you can eat a simple set menu of Sukiyaki at 800 yen but delicious. This is for beginners.

4.Watami;
Watami is not food name but restaurant name. It is a nationwide chain dining bar. Japanese call such kind of casual restaurant Izakaya. You can enjoy all kinds of drinks and foods including fish, meat and vegetable Sashimi, Sushi, and Tempura.
You can drink Japanese sake, shochu (Japanese spirit), Western and Japanese wine, whiskey and soft drinks.
Very happily English menu with big color pictures is available. You put orders by the tablet computer on the table with English. You can talk and laugh in a loud voice.
